Most Daventry kitchen enquiries are structural enquiries. What people want is a wall gone and a bigger room, and the units are what happens afterwards.
On the estate housing that dominates the town this is well trodden ground. The construction is consistent, which makes the structure predictable and the pricing honest, but predictable is not the same as trivial: the beam still has to be sized for what is genuinely bearing on it, and the padstones and bearing checked rather than assumed. That is a Building Regulations matter and we arrange the inspection and see it signed off.
The floor is the other constraint on this stock. A solid ground floor means moving a sink or a drain is a breaking out and chasing job rather than lifting a couple of boards, and it is much better known before the units are ordered than after they are stacked in the hall.
In the older core the questions change: lighter rear additions on shallower foundations, suspended timber floors, and a frontage that may be under the Article 4 direction if any external work is involved.
We do not sell kitchens. You buy the units wherever the deal is best and we take the room back to sound walls, level floors and services in the right places. If your supplier’s plan will not work in the space, we say so while it can still be changed. Our kitchen work page covers where our part starts and stops.
